The year was 1967, the place was Clara City, Minnesota, and the company was VSC. VSC was a small data processing company that specialized in independent telephone company billing services. In 1980, VSC became Midwest Data. It was acquired by the group known today as Life-Science Innovations and David Froegel, who was an employee of VSC. Operations moved from Clara City to Willmar, Minnesota, where they remain today. In the beginning there were only 5 employees supporting small local companies and timesharing a computer for processing. Today there are 25 employees supporting companies in different states and different venues of business. Along with its name change, many facets of the business changed as well. In addition to the telephone billing services, Midwest Data would service and support Life-Science Innovations and its affiliates. This is no small task when considering the many different departments, divisions, and remote locations. Today, all of these are serviced under one network. Midwest Data maintains one of the largest networks in west central Minnesota. With advanced technology the possibilities of supporting customers in remote locations has become reality. In addition to the internal support and the telephone industry services, Midwest Data ventured into computer hardware, networking, sales and consulting. Our IT department services and supports over 60 small to mid-sized business networks, in and around the Willmar area. Midwest Data was born on customer service and satisfaction. These practices withstood the test of time. We are known for our outstanding customer service and attention to detail. We treat each customer individually and as a partner in business. Midwest Data has seen over 35 years in business and holding true to our promise of service, we will see many more.
